Matt Coughlin is a Los Angeles–based photographer, mental health professional, and multidisciplinary visual artist. With a background in fashion and portrait photography, Matt is drawn to images that play with perception, pattern, and emotion. His work in the therapy room deeply informs his art practice - both are grounded in curiosity about how people see themselves and the worlds they move through. For Arte Do Pé, Matt’s distorted checkerboard sock design turns a classic pattern into a playful optical illusion, mirroring the way perspective can shift when we slow down and really look. Whether behind the camera or designing for wearable art, Matt aims to create pieces that feel both familiar and slightly off-center, inviting contemplation, conversation, and a bit of joy.
